Experience
Best Time to Cruise the Caribbean and Bahamas

Mar 12, 2026
Winter and early spring: peak sunshine
December through April brings dry, warm weather and calm seas, which is why it's the most popular time to sail. Book early for the best cabin choice, especially over the holidays and spring break.
Late spring and early summer: warm and lively
May and June are hot, bright and busy with families once school lets out. Ships are full of energy, and the water is warm enough for all-day swimming at the beach stops.
Late summer and fall: quieter ships
From August into November, ships tend to be quieter and offers are often stronger. This is hurricane season, so itineraries can change to steer around weather, but the cruise lines are very good at keeping guests safe and comfortable.
Short getaways work any time of year
Three- and four-night sailings to the Bahamas from Florida are a great option in any month. They're easy to fit around work and school and pair well with a few extra days in Florida.
